NiLu, Harlem’s born and bred, Black-owned lifestyle gift shop is supporting Harlem’s artists and makers in the face of Covid-19. NiLu’s “Harlem Village Market”, open every Saturday and Sunday from 12-5, is held outside on the sidewalk in front of the store. Each weekend different makers and artists showcase their creations at the market. Nilu also has Jazz musicians playing in front of the store every weekend. The Harlem Village Market is Nilu’s warm welcome back to Harlem for New Yorkers re-exploring their neighborhoods post quarantine. Local Harlem artists that have showed on past weekends’ include Imani Lia Fashions, Junny, and Truffolie.
