Sound of the Crickets
Due to the coronavirus, please call to ensure this event is still happening before you leave home.
Our installation Love Crickets, Save the Planet allows us to consider crickets and their many jobs in nature. Crickets contribute to the food chain and are highly nutritious as prey and as fertilizing agents for soil. They were even used as home alarm systems for citizens of ancient China! Their famous chirping sounds are also very soothing and beautiful to listen to. Can we make rhythms, beats, and songs inspired by our insect friends? Using sound samples from our cricket farm, invent your own harmonic tunes and celebrate our insect friends!
