Harlem and El Barrio Tour

A walking tour of Harlem and El Barrio (Spanish Harlem) including the classic Brownstone Row Houses and the local businesses and people.

The Harlem & El Barrio Tour is a 4 hour walking tour through some of the main streets in Harlem and El Barrio (Spanish Harlem) including the classic Brownstone Row Houses, The Apollo Theater and the local businesses and people. It is especially good on Sundays when everyone gets dressed up for church and it is quite lively on the streets. Much of Harlem has not been gentrified and has the same look and feel that it's had for decades. This is a very good neighborhood to shoot street photography or if you just want to explore the neighborhood and take urban landscape photos.

This is a private tour and the cost is $300 for a group up to 4 people. (Inquire for larger groups.) For more information or to reserve a tour contact me. A 50% deposit is required to reserve a date. You can choose to be met at your hotel or meet in a designated location. The time listed for the tour is the minimum about of time that we can reasonably see and shoot here. We can definitely do a longer tour if you like. An additional hour is $75 and it is possible that I will be able to accommodate that during our tour.

For photo tours (beginners to advanced,) assistance is provided on camera use, techniques and photographic opportunities. Genres include (but are not limited to) urban landscapes, graffiti and street photography.

“A smashing, insightful, perspective-changing joy of a day! Having researched vociferously I bought a day's sightseeing/street photography for my partner for his 50th birthday - a secret until the second we met Leanne at Central Station - and based on his want to improve his photographic eye. Leanne is charismatic, clever, clearly loves NYC as a source of ever-interesting neighbourhoods and opportunities to snap something in-the-moment (but of eternal note) and proved an encouraging teacher, light-touched yet really instructive. I cannot recommend this experience enough; we've been talking about it ever since and, next time we're in NYC, we'll be asking Leanne to tour us around another neighbourhood, building on all we've learned to date. Thank you Leanne - you're one amazing woman! Kate. x” - Kate, London, England
