Gibney Company Debuts at The Joyce Theater with Three World Premieres
Gibney Company will be making its anticipated debut at The Joyce Theater in New York City, with a program of three world premieres by Tony Award winning choreographer and director Sonya Tayeh (Moulin Rouge!); Norwegian writer, director, and choreographer Alan Lucien Øyen; and Gibney Company Choreographic Associate Rena Butler.
Tayeh’s work will be performed to an original composition played live by The Bengsons. Untitled introduces New York City audiences to Øyen’s internationally acclaimed theatrical style incorporating movement, text, and visuals. Butler, a rising choreographer and Gibney Choreographic Associate, has created a trio exploring and reimagining the narrative of the film “King Kong” and its iconic, monolithic title character.
