WITH STRINGS ATTACHED Ariana Kim & Chelsea Smith, violins; Jessica Meyer, viola; Matt Consul, mandolin Daniel Temkin, composer and curator

Violinists Ariana Kim and Chelsea Smith (members of the acclaimed Knights chamber orchestra) are joined by violist Jessica Meyer (co-founder of the new music group counter)induction) on an eclectic program of contemporary string music. WITH STRINGS ATTACHED includes two of Meyer’s own compositions, the lyrical “But Not Until” and the inventive “Swerve” for viola and loop pedal, as well as miniature duets by 20th-century masters Bela Bartok and Luciano Berio. The players will also perform works by Ted Hearne (2018 Pulitzer Prize finalist), Jennifer Curtis (member of International Contemporary Ensemble), and rising composer Daniel Temkin, whose featured work “Time Capsule” is described by the Philadelphia Inquirer as "sweet and simple...like a memory stream in the American vernacular." Special guest Matt Consul joins on mandolin and vocals, closing the program with a special bluegrass fiddling jam.
