Materialness - Transformative Art Installation
Due to the coronavirus, please call to ensure this event is still happening before you leave home.
Artists explore the meaning and identity of natural materials ranging from bacterial cellulose and fungus to cultured pearls and volcanic rock as a base for creation in an art installation presented by the Bezalel Academy of Arts and Design, Jerusalem. Materialness investigates the effects and ramifications of the earth’s natural resources and the process on the environment. Artists representing Israel’s oldest art institution will show 60 original works including jewelry, vases and art objects, based on natural earth elements as they grow and transform, including some “living” pieces. The pieces may be purchased, with many under $500. For more information visit https://www.bezalelfriends.org/
