"Hip-Hop Pioneers" is an oral presentation and music video debut of "PIONEERS", by 17 year-old, Grammy nominated hip-hop artist and producer, The ZYG 808, on Tuesday, February 16 at 7:30 pm on Facebook Live and Streamyard, on the Soul Poets Records page (http://facebook.com/soulpoetsrecords)
In honor of Black History Month, the presentation will explore the roots of hip-hop as a folk-art form originating in the Bronx, NY in the 1970s, to it's status as a world-wide phenomenon, as well as the ongoing struggle between the culture of hip-hop and the industry of hip-hop.
Hip-Hop Pioneers is a piece of The ZYG 808's research for his senior seminar project for Mashpee High School, where he is an honor student. "PIONEERS" is one of the singles from his forthcoming mixtape, "BEAT LOUNGE NOTES". His plan is to attend college and study music composition and audio production.
