Legendary writer, producer and comedian Tim Ferguson has opened up his revolutionary comedy writing masterclasses to the US, kicking things off with How to Write a Sitcom. After gaining a swathe of accolades at the famous Edinburgh Festival in the 80s with the uproariously controversial trio Doug Anthony All Stars (known fondly in the UK and Australia as DAAS), Tim went on to write and script-produce a variety of ground-breaking movies, TV shows and sitcoms including the ABC documentary Tick F***ing Tock which gave viewers an insight into the complex relationship between laughter and tragedy. When he returned to Edinburgh with DAAS in 2016, the group had been sorely missed by dedicated UK fans and won the prestigious Spirit of the Fringe Award. Tim’s recent solo shows give audiences a brutal but hysterical glimpse at the misfortune of his Multiple Sclerosis diagnosis while learning that laughter is the best medicine. A Fast Life on Wheels won Best Male Solo at Adelaide Fringe 2018. Tim has also written the bestselling memoir Carry a Big Stick and the comedy screenwriting manual The Cheeky Monkey. He has taught comedy screenwriting for AFTRS, Sydney Film School & New York University. Tim is offering US screenwriters the opportunity to learn the essential secrets to successful comedy writing with a two-part online course.
