The Art of Telling YOURStory: Graphic Novels
Due to the coronavirus, please call to ensure this event is still happening before you leave home.
Ever wonder how comics get made, or what it takes to make a great comic? We might guide you to the answer! QHS proudly presents a brand new summer workshop.
Come to create a comic about yourself! We want you to connect with your past through comics and art, to learn all the techniques needed to create their own graphical story though the art of comics. Taught by a professional comic book artist, you will tell the story of yourself and what makes you ‘you’!
Meeting Thursday and Friday afternoons for 5 weeks, students will take 2-hour lessons on the art of storytelling taught by Greg Renaud, a Queens local artist who has been focusing on illustration and cartoons. Techniques such as paneling, dialog, action, motion, and setting will be complemented with how culture and history can be used to tell a story.
