Brooklyn based harmony driven trio The Maybelles are Philippa Thompson on violin, Tina Lama upright bass, and songwriter Jan Bell on guitar and harmonica. NYC adventures include engagements at The Woody Guthrie Archives, Joe's Pub, The Highline Ballroom, and opening for Rosanne Cash at both 'The Winding Stream' Documentary at Independent Film Center (IFC), and Restore Red Hook at The Bell House. And, along the way, warming up the house for Emmylou Harris, Odetta, Wanda Jackson, Steve Earle, Ramblin' Jack Elliot, Ferron, and Ray Charles (with Opal Fly). Jan Bell's solo album dedicated to her Grandfather, 'Dream of the Miner's Child' won the Independent Music Awards Best Concept Album.
