About Japanese Instruments:
Koto – better known as the national instrument of Japan. The most common type of koto features 13 strings and moveable bridges. The strings are typically plucked, pushed, and pulled to create a delicate and traditional sound.
Shamisen - Best known for its percussive twang, the shamisen is played by striking strings with a plectrum (bachi) down to the skin of its body. Sometimes likened to the American banjo. The instrument’s distinct sound is featured across Japanese entertainment – from kabuki to anime.
