Statue Cruises Announces Summer Hours & Events for Lady Liberty & Ellis Island

The only way for New York City visitors and natives to experience the world-renowned Statue of Liberty is with Statue Cruises, the official concessioner to the National Park Service for ferry service to the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island. For Summer 2014, they are offering additional departures to accommodate the Statue’s expanded summer hours beginning Memorial Day weekend with departures from 8:30am to 5pm. (The two islands will now close at 7pm.)

Visitors will have access to the Statue of Liberty’s crown, pedestal, observation deck, museum and grounds along with guided tours that chronicle our nation’s treasured history. In preparation for the extended summer hours, there are now 37 percent more tickets for the crown and 15 percent more tickets for the pedestal. Tickets can be purchased online here.

In addition to seeing the iconic sites and sounds of New York Harbor, there is also an array of public events throughout the summer on the water and islands which include:

Saturday, May 24th - Extended hours to Liberty and Ellis Island begin

Friday, June 6th - 70th Anniversary D-Day Commemoration on Liberty Island

Friday, July 4th - Macy’s Fireworks Spectacular on the East River

Monday, September 1st – Last day for Extended Hours

Visitors can reserve Statue of Liberty/Ellis Island tickets from Battery Park and Liberty State Park now through September 1st. Audio tours for both islands come in many different languages and are also included with every ticket purchased. Online reservations are strongly encouraged.
