NYC Tourism News and New Family Travel Data

An informal exploration through Brooklyn, Queens, and Manhattan this past weekend revealed a shifting attitude towards masks in the city. After many months of citywide discipline, a lot more faces are suddenly visible. (The CDC is onboard with it—the latest guidance is that fully vaccinated people don't need to be masked outdoors under the right conditions.) The plummeting of the COVID rate in the city further reflects the changing times. Accordingly, capacities are expanding, and there's more opening news:

For the first time in over a year, Americans are net positive about the state of the economy. Hotels in the Southeast are reporting better business than they had before the pandemic. The chances of a return of international tourists is increasing. Davler-Parents conducted a Family Travel Survey which yielded encouraging data. Parents are ready to get out and go. Read on for all the details.

Breaking: New Data on NYC Family Tourism

Davler-Parents just heard from one-thousand local parents about their plans for travel. Our first travel-focused reader survey shows tons of promise for local venues. Data highlights include:

  • 90% of respondents say they are planning to travel this summer
  • Families looking to pursue local NY area activities reported local beaches, zoos/aquariums, and NYC attractions as their top 3 choices
  • Over 60% of the families expected to spend more than $1,000 on summer activities, which for more than half is the same or more than they spent in 2019

If you would like to hear more about the results of the data, apply for a spot at our seminar for partners presenting the survey results and marketing:
