HONK NYC! Brass Music Festival Returns for 13th Year

The 13th annual 2019 HONK NYC! Festival will run from October 15 through October 19 at a variety of venues in Manhattan, Brooklyn, and Staten Island. The international brass band celebration delivers the tradition of global street band music to audiences in parks, clubs, radio stations, and more. HONK NYC! highlights local, national, and international musicians and ensembles who redefine brass and percussion music and parade culture. *October 15, 8pm. The Opening Night performance’s all-star brass jam will highlight trumpeter, band leader, and composer Frank London’s Shikere Kapelye Inebriated Orchestra (franklondon.com) and Seed & Feed Marching Abominable, which is well known for its fancifully costumed performers and high-energy music (seedandfeed.org). The event is co-hosted by L Train BrassBand—a community of nearly 70 musicians, ltrainbrassband.com
