In what promises to be a major development for NYC sightseeing, the creative force behind the award-winning traveling theater THE RIDE is unleashing their patented next-generation buses into the more traditional city tour game with THE TOUR. It's traditional in that they'll be taking viewers to see New York's most iconic neighborhoods and landmarks like Times Square and the Empire State Building, though everything else about THE TOUR promises to be anything but traditional.
Set to launch March 23rd, THE TOUR is a 90-minute immersive ride through midtown and the Upper West Side in THE RIDE's multi-million dollar custom motor coach. With panoramic floor-to-celing windows, stadium-style seating (meaning riders face the action on the street instead of the back of a stranger's head), 3,000 LED lights, 40 plasma TV screens and surround sound, the vehicle is a long way from your grandfather's double-decker bus.
Stadium-style seating in THE RIDE coach makes every spot the best seat in the house.
Thanks to the advanced audio and visual technology, riders on THE TOUR will witness the past, present and future of New York unfold before their eyes via different interactive moments at key landmarks on the route. And much like THE RIDE, there are always a few surprises along the way
Deeply researched (and, of course, highly entertaining), THE TOUR will show the wonders of New York in a way they've literally never been seen before...all in unparalleled VIP comfort.
THE TOUR will depart from 45th St. and Broadway and run seven days a week. From March 23rd through Apriil 3rd departures will be at 10am, noon and 2pm. Beginning April 4th THE TOUR will offer five departure times daily, (10am, noon, 2pm, 4pm and 6pm). Tickets will be $45 for adults and $35 for children age 2-12. Children under 2 can ride THE TOUR free. Check out THE RIDE on Facebook for more announcements as the become available.
