Memorial Day Weekend Parades and More in New York City

Memorial Day weekend is often regarded as the kickoff to summer. But more importantly, it is the day to honor citizens who've served the United States in times of war. We’ve included here a roundup of parades/events around the city. Please be reminded that Memorial Day (Monday, May 27) is a federal holiday—all schools, banks, post offices are closed. But the Metropolitan Museum of Art WILL be open, the Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum is hosting a weekend-long series of events to commemorate the sacrifices of our veterans, and the New York Philharmonic will perform their special annual concert at the Cathedral of St. John the Divine (stjohndivine.org).
