FLY - Village Vanguard
October 13, 2019 - New York

Tenor saxophone with bass and drums is a jazz format with a wild and woolly tradition. For tenor virtuosos like sonny Rollins and Joe Henderson, trios have been opportunities to risk everything, to dance on a tightrope with no net. The tenor trio that calls itself Fly breaks with this tradition explicitly. Fly plays cerebral, rapt, interactive chamber jazz, deriving a wide range of textures and colors from three instruments. […] The music of Fly is sophisticated and sincere and enormously competent. — Thomas Conrad, Jazz Times

Silver Arrow Band - DROM
October 14, 2019 - New York

The Silver Arrows are a premium 3-14 man band that are specialists in high-energy music for festivals, events, and private functions - at a sensible price. We pride ourselves on having a "cooler-than-average" song list that is never cheesey and focuses squarely on filling your dance-floor. With the Silver Arrow Band, you'll get the best musicians in the country, playing your favorite music. The Silver Arrows play a wide variety of tunes, but our trademark specialty is up-tempo festival-style music - capable of everything from chart classics, funk grooves, soul, swing/jazz to current top 40 and dance hits. On one night we might be playing completely 1950s rock n' roll, and on the next night, only 80s hits. Or a mixture of eveything- you really have to see it live to understand!

On his latest album "I Died Of Boredom And Came Back As Me", singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Barton Hartshorn walked his distinct English folk-pop-storyteller style along the winding streets of Laurel Canyon to arrive at a 70’s west coast vibe. Hiromi @ Sony Hall - Blue Note
Through October 20, 2019 - New York

"I don't want to put a name on my music. Other people can put a name on what I do. It's just the union of what I've been listening to and what I've been learning. It has some elements of classical music, it has some rock, it has some jazz, but I don't want to give it a name." – Hiromi Japan has produced an impressive assemblage of jazz pianists, from Toshiko Akiyoshi and Makoto Ozone to Junko Onishi. And now, well into the change of the 21st century, the pianist/composer Hiromi Uehara is the latest in that line of amazing musicians. Ever since the 2003 release of her debut Telarc CD,Another Mind, Hiromi has electrified audiences and critics east and west, with a creative energy that encompasses and eclipses the boundaries of jazz, classical and pop parameters, taking improvisation and composition to new heights of complexity and sophistication. Her new CD, Alive, her ninth as a leader, features her critically-acclaimed Trio Project, consisting of contrabass guitarist Anthony Jackson (Steely Dan, Paul Simon, Michel Camilo, The O'Jays and Chick Corea) and drummer Simon Phillips (Toto, The Who, Judas Priest, David Gilmour, and Jack Bruce).
